Dunlop Slazenger

Litestructures was asked by Dunlop Slazenger to design and produce a simple, fully transportable point-of-sale structure for use by their sales and promotions teams. The design had to incorporate a goalpost style structure which would be self-supporting and which could hold up to six squash racquets or cricket bats with their accompanying information cards.

Our final design has only six elements, enabling the Dunlop Slazenger salesperson to assemble the structure, onsite, in less than twenty minutes.

The framework comprises standard Litestructures AstraLite-2 components (straights, corners and custom base plates) and our designers incorporated a section of AstraLive-2 straight to power the display's own lighting system without visible wiring.

Practical notes: The internal frame was made up using a breathable fabric which was then tied to the inner chords of the A02. Due to size limitations (this has to fit into an estate car), the baseplate footprint had to be smaller than ideal, so the structure was stabilised and weighed down using a thick steel plate, hidden within the design, to maintain visual appeal.

The attachment hooks for the racquets were also concealed, within a sliding mechanism clicked into our livetrack in-tube power supply.
